How Secnora Poland Secured Nearly PLN 1 Million for an AI-Powered Cybersecurity Platform
Overview
This case study presents how Secnora Poland Sp. z o.o., a technology company
developing solutions in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure
monitoring, secured funding for the development of an advanced Attack Surface
Management (ASM) platform.
With support from Grants Capital, Secnora Poland transformed an innovative
technology concept into a structured R&D project eligible for European funding,
enabling the company to accelerate product development, strengthen its market
position, and bring a new cybersecurity solution to market.

The Challenge
Secnora Poland Sp. z o.o. is a technology company focused on cybersecurity,
artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure monitoring. The company operates as
part of the international Secnora group, with activities in markets including Estonia,
Portugal, Australia, and the United States.
The company identified a growing market need for more advanced cybersecurity
solutions. Traditional vulnerability assessments provide only periodic snapshots of an
organisation’s security status, while modern businesses require continuous
monitoring of their digital exposure.
The objective was to develop an innovative Attack Surface Management (ASM)
platform capable of:
- continuously monitoring external digital assets,
- identifying cybersecurity risks in real time,
- analysing vulnerabilities across complex IT environments,
- supporting proactive threat prevention.
The challenge was to transform the product vision into a strong R&D project
demonstrating both market demand and genuine technological innovation.
The Solution
Grants Capital supported Secnora Poland in developing a comprehensive R&D
funding strategy and preparing the project application.
The cooperation focused on structuring the project from both a technological and
business perspective.
Key areas of support included:
- development of the R&D project concept,
- preparation of the research agenda,
- definition of industrial research and development activities,
- description of technological innovation and competitive advantages,
- preparation of implementation and commercialisation strategy,
- development of market justification and business potential.
The project was designed as a comprehensive R&D initiative covering the
development of an advanced ASM solution based on cybersecurity analytics,
automation, and AI-supported monitoring.
Grants Capital also supported the presentation of Secnora Poland’s organisational
capabilities, combining the expertise of the Polish company with the international
Secnora team’s experience in:
- cybersecurity,
- artificial intelligence,
- software architecture,
- backend and frontend development,
- UX/UI,
- product management.
Barriers & Challenges
A key challenge was demonstrating that the project represented genuine research
and development activity rather than standard software development.
The application needed to clearly demonstrate:
- technological uncertainty,
- innovative research objectives,
- development challenges,
- measurable R&D outcomes,
- potential market impact.
Another important aspect was connecting advanced AI-based cybersecurity capabilities with a realistic commercialisation pathway and long-term business growth
potential.
Results
The cooperation resulted in securing PLN 997,443.30 in European funding for the
development of Secnora’s innovative cybersecurity platform.
Key outcomes include:
- obtaining financing covering 70% of eligible project costs,
- supporting the full R&D cycle, including industrial research and developmentactivities,
- financing expert resources and specialised tools required for development andtesting,
- accelerating the market readiness of an AI-powered cybersecurity solution.
The project demonstrates how European funding can support the development of
advanced digital technologies combining:
- artificial intelligence,

- cybersecurity,
- real-time risk monitoring.
Through cooperation with Grants Capital, Secnora Poland gained a structured
pathway to transform technological innovation into a scalable market solution with
