Data as Europe’s Competitive Advantage: Insights from the CEE Digital Summit 2025

What does it take to make data Europe’s true competitive advantage? That was the key question explored by AI Chamber CEO Tomasz Snażyk during the CEE Digital Summit 2025 in Warsaw — a major regional event organized within the framework of the CEE Digital Coalition, bringing together digital industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators from across Central and Eastern Europe.
As a panelist in the session “Data as the Foundation of the Digital Economy,” Tomasz, together with other distinguished experts: Patrick Malicek, Egle Markeviciute, Bjoern Juretzki, Krzysztof Król, and Radu Puchiu, discussed how trust, access, and governance can unlock the full potential of Europe’s Data Framework Strategy.
Speakers emphasized that open and reliable access to high-quality data is essential for building advanced AI models and accelerating innovation across industries. They also highlighted the critical role of the public sector — to lead by example, enable data sharing, minimize regulatory overlap, and reduce legal uncertainty for businesses.
AI Chamber strongly believes that open, responsible, and collaborative data ecosystems are fundamental to Europe’s digital transformation. Ensuring that Central and Eastern Europe becomes an active contributor to the continent’s data economy requires cooperation between governments, companies, and research institutions.
