Monika Kalkusová

Monika Kalkusova is a public affairs and communications expert with over a decade of experience in digital policy, government relations, and strategic communication. She holds a Master’s degree in Communication Science from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Metropolitan University Prague.
Before joining the AI Chamber, Monika worked across both public and private sectors, including on Google’s CEE Public Policy team, in the European Parliament, and at leading consultancy firms. Her work has centered on shaping technology and AI policy in Central and Eastern Europe, with a focus on digital regulation, stakeholder engagement, and political campaigning.
An alumna of the Aspen Young Leaders Programme, Monika has lived and worked in five countries, bringing a broad international outlook and in-depth understanding of EU and national policymaking.
Kamil Balcewicz
Policy Advisor
An attorney-at-law and policy advisor specialising in the regulation of technology in the European Union. Works on digital and AI policy at both EU and national level, following legislative files from the initial proposal through to how they are applied in practice in the member states.
Represents business in legislative processes in Brussels and in the capitals of the region, preparing positions and opinions on draft legislation and taking part in consultations and parliamentary committee work. Focuses in particular on Central and Eastern Europe, where the same EU rules often produce very different national outcomes.
Advises companies on their regulatory obligations, translating legal and legislative developments into guidance they can use in day-to-day operations.
