AI Chamber and Regional Partners Call for a Unified CEE AI Gigafactory Proposal
This week, AI Chamber CEE, together with prg.ai, SAPIE – Slovak Alliance for Innovation Economy, Digital National Alliance Bulgaria, Związek Cyfrowa Polska / Digital Poland Association, and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SPCR), jointly issued an open letter to Central and Eastern European governments.
The message is clear:
Fragmented national bids for EU funding risk failure. Only a single, coordinated regional proposal can secure the investment needed to establish a world-class AI Gigafactory for the CEE region.
Key Considerations
- Limited EU Funding
Realistically, the European Commission will support only one major AI infrastructure hub in Central and Eastern Europe. Competing submissions from individual countries would only weaken the region’s collective position and reduce the likelihood of success.
- Collective Strength
A joint proposal backed by 11 CEE countries would demonstrate both economic scale and political influence, positioning the region as a serious contender alongside established Western European consortia.
- Long-Term Benefits
A unified AI Gigafactory would:
- Integrate national AI ecosystems,
- Strengthen SME competitiveness,
- Retain and attract talent,
- Contribute an estimated €100 billion annually to regional GDP.
A Moment for Leadership and Vision
As AI Chamber CEO Tomasz Snażyk emphasized:
“This is a defining moment. CEE governments have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership, unity, and vision in shaping Europe’s AI future. The benefits — economic, technological, and strategic — will be tremendous and long-lasting.”
The initiative reflects a growing consensus that only through regional cooperation can CEE achieve global competitiveness in artificial intelligence.
One CEE. One proposal. Shared success.
